Character Information
Name: Koushi Sugawara
Canon: Hakiyuu
Canon Point: after they beat Nekoma in the nationals (look up chapter number)
Age: 18
History: right here!

Personality: Koushi Sugawara has a soothing, warm personality. There’s a reason why he’s referred to as ‘Mr. Refreshing’ sometimes. He’s very friendly and always ready to give advice. He’ll help his friends with any situation on and off the court. It can be from helping first years, Hinata and Kageyama, get back into the gym after they were kicked out to trying to make sure a fight didn’t break out between their ace and libero, he will do all he can to help.

He gets along pretty well with everyone on the team even with the fellow setter on their team which is more of a friendly rivalry of sorts with Suga vowing to do better in his position. He goes out of his way to help him instead which helps them work together. He may not be a regular on the team or a genius, he doesn’t let that stop his love for the game or for his team. He may not be a genius, but he’s perceptive on and off the court. Using his perception he’s able to analyze the other team then come up with moves to counter against them. He’s also able to come up with hand signs for the team to use to limit communication and any leaks of their plan to the other team. He does his best to keep everyone cool and level headed from the sidelines. Something that he carries with him when he’s on the court. He may use methods, such as a karate chop to do so, it’s his way of helping.

He used to be content of sitting in the background even complacent when Kageyama joined the team. After a while his attitude on that changed which lead him to work harder for the team and his position. While he may not be a regular anymore, it doesn’t mean that he will give up. He doesn’t want to live his life with any regrets and will work to make sure that happens. He may have a new found sense of confidence it doesn’t stop him from second guessing himself if this becomes too much. Once he has a time to calm down and think, he’s back to his old self.
He always makes sure to give his hardest in anything that he’s doing. While he’s aware that he does not have skills that stands out it doesn’t stop him from learning or trying something new. He will work hard to make sure that he doesn’t disappoint himself or the team in any way. He doesn’t mind voicing his opinion on something or hiding when something irritates him. He will make sure not to worry his friends of course, but it wouldn’t be a good idea to mess with them. He’s not easy to mess with either and will defend himself if he has to. He’ll try to stop the problem before it can escalate or work through finding a solution. He’ll never give up, no matter the situation.

On top of his helpful nature, he’s able to bring out the best in others. That proves to be an advantage against any team they’re playing. He’s also has come up with many synchronized attacks that they use in games.

While he’s not very outgoing, he will participate in group outings and doesn’t shy away much from attention. He may not go out to seek it, if it comes to him instead he’ll let it linger for a bit before directing the spotlight to someone else. He doesn’t want to be seen as someone hogging the spotlight. While he may be mature for his age, he will still act like a teenager from time to time. There are times he can be prideful when he wants to boast about being a good senpai. Then there are times when his mischievous side makes an appearance such as when he supported Hinata for sneaking into the training camp. However, when the situation calls for it he’s ready to fall back into his supportive role to make sure that everything runs smoothly.

Suga has passion for volleyball, care for his friends, and an attitude where he doesn’t want to give up. He’ll always be there for his friends, ready to give them a push when they need it.

Abilities & Skills: Suga has a good eye for looking at the other team and quickly making up strategies to work against them. His overall technique and game sense is very high both on and off the court. However, cause he gets overheated when he’s put on court he ends up over thinking things. When he’s not overthinking things he can come up with hand signals for his team in a night, develop strategies for his team based on their strengths and weaknesses, and be an unknown factor when he’s put on the court. He is human with no supernatural powers. He may not be as fast or strong as some of the members of his team, but he makes up for it with his strategies and techniques.

Inventory/Companions: He will be carrying his bag with a change of clothes, shoes, his wallet, his phone, and some extra change

Choice: witch
Reason: Suga is always looking for a challenge, ways to improve himself, and how he can help others. Being able to use magic would help him with all three things. He would be interested in the type of magic he would be good at then once he got the hang of casting spells he would work hard to be better at them. Being a witch would be a way for him to get to know monsters too. He would extend the same warmth and protection towards them too. He would find being able to use magic as a really amazing thing also getting to know other witches will help him too. He’ll feel like he’s part of a team again which would make him really excited to get to know different styles of magic too.
